Tryphon Evarist, a multi-award-winning composer, songwriter, and music teacher from Zanzibar, is a key figure in preserving and evolving the island’s rich musical heritage. With experience in bands like Mapanya and Waungwana, he formed his own band to showcase his unique sound, diverse compositions, and exceptional vocal harmonies, cementing his place as a musical innovator and cultural icon.

Jordan PERIGONE is a rising star in Maloya, the traditional music of La Réunion, known for his exceptional songwriting and powerful vocal performances. With clever wordplay and a deep emotional range, Jordan captivates audiences, taking them on a profound journey through his music. His unique blend of lyrical mastery and heartfelt delivery is reshaping the Maloya scene, establishing him as a standout talent in the genre.
BABA KASH & THE BAND – TANZANIA
Baba Kash, influenced by his brother Banyenda’s love for Mchiriku music, ventured into the vibrant world of Singeli, quickly earning recognition for his unique sound. In 2022, he realized his dream of forming a band that creatively blends Singeli and Mchiriku, offering a fresh and dynamic musical experience that is capturing the attention of audiences.
B. JUNIOR – MAYOTTE
Born and raised in Lyon, France, B. Junior channels the rich cultural heritage of his Malagasy and Mayotte roots into a powerful musical journey. With a clear mission to showcase the vibrant music of Mayotte to the world, he blends captivating rhythms and melodies that celebrate unity, cultural pride, and the beauty of his heritage. NIDHAL YAHYAOUI – TUNISIA
Hailing from the culturally rich Seliana region of Tunisia, Nidhal blends traditional Tunisian music with contemporary sounds, creating a groundbreaking fusion that transcends boundaries. Anna Kattoa & Bantu Sound is a vibrant band known for their dynamic fusion of African contemporary music, captivating dance, and powerful live performances. Led by Anna’s unique vocals and original compositions, their mesmerizing grooves connect audiences to African ancestral spirits. Through collaborations across diverse musical styles, Anna has firmly established herself as a key figure in the world music scene.
SWAHILI ENCOUNTERS – VARIOUS
Swahili Encounters is a powerful celebration of African unity, bringing together an extraordinary lineup of artists from across the continent, including Zanzibar, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Niger, and Uganda. Audiences are treated to a rich tapestry of sounds and cultures, with performances by renowned musicians like Fatime Songoro (Hungary/Tanzania) on saxophone, Siti Amina (Zanzibar) on oud and vocals, Islam Elbeiti (Sudan) on bass, Chudo Master (Tanzania) on djembe and nyatiti, and many others. Each artist contributes their unique talents, blending traditional and contemporary influences that captivate and inspire.
