Beauty Face-Off: Faces Of Africa
Africa is rich in cultural heritage with diverse beauty, a wealth of natural resources, offering breathtaking tourist attractions and a home for these beauties representing at the global stage with other stunning delegates from all over the world competing for the world title.
This is a list of beauty queens to watch out for from different parts of Africa representing at the 70th edition of Miss Universe held on 12th December in Israel & Miss World held on 16th December 2021 in Puerto Rico. Two years since the pandemic that has impacted each one of us, like any other industry the beauty pageant was affected in result, the pageants took a break and now back like never before.
Here is a list of our top contenders from South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Kenya.
South Africa
Shudufhadzo, 25, beauty with grace- she has it all with stunning natural features that make her stand out from the masses. She was crowned in 2020, a very bold bald look to ever appear in Miss World and the first bald woman to win Miss South Africa. Could she be the first to take it all home? Current record holder is Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi, who became the first African woman with natural short hair to win Miss Universe who also happens to be her role model.
Côte d’Ivoire
Olivia, 23, is a professional model which garnered to her popularity in Ivory Coast, with public appearances and huge social media following. Her viral photo-shoot that was recently shared on Twitter landed her on the list of who to watch out for. She is set to compete at the Miss World stage.
Ghana
The New Miss Universe Ghana, Naa Morkor, 26, was Miss Universe Ghana 2018 second runner-up. Experience seem to be a key element on this list, she also competed in Miss Intercontinental 2016 in Sri Lanka. She placed second runner-up and bagged the Miss Intercontinental Africa.
Kenya
The third time is the charm! Roshanara is the definition of of persistence, discipline & perseverance. Roshanara, 28, a Law graduate from University of Nairobi, with a high flying modelling career, an author recently finished writing her book, ‘Beyond The Darkness’.
At the age of 22, Roshanara became Miss Kenya, the title was short-lived after being dethroned. This being the second time Miss Ebrahim contested for the Miss Universe Kenya after failing to make it to the top 20 back in 2018, with her ambition, zeal and dedication nothing can stop her.
